R. U. Guitars has a double meaning to it.

In its spelled-out form - Are You Guitars - it means that you just went utterly bonkers about one or many aspects of learning (about) guitar(s). My Youtube viewing history says I've hit that stage about 6 months ago and it keeps getting worse.

The second meaning is more personal to me. My grandfather's initials are R. U.

Without him, I would never have experienced the beauty of woodworking.

So far, in my guitar-making journey, most of the people I see online are experienced guitar builders and/or have previously done woodworking professionally.

To put it simply, there are very few people I can relate to - complete newbies, without big lumber yards in the area and/or without a ton of woodworking equipment in their sheds.

It is here for all the people who want to get into guitar building themselves, but don't dare to (yet).

Basically, none. Especially if you start building with something simple, like a guitar kit.

It takes time, though. Experienced guitarmakers may spend a couple hundred hours building a single guitar, while you can find kits that you can simply put together (without staining) in a few hours. So, it's up to you.

You can always wonder - or you can start and figure it out.
